As a new platform release, MicroStrategy 2020 introduces new features that provide better performance and scalability to enhance the overall user experience. In addition, this release introduces new features across the analytics, mobility, and security platform - making it easier for users to build applications faster.

Below are the new features exclusive to MicroStrategy 2020 and its subsequent updates. For a smooth upgrade, be sure to review the important version-specific information regarding changes in the release that could impact functionality and performance. Security

  • Chrome Web Browser version 80 and above introduces new changes which may impact embedding. For more information, see KB484005: Chrome v80 Cookie Behavior and the Impact on MicroStrategy Deployments.
  • The new URL Scanner tool allows you to scan MicroStrategy metadatas (10.4.x and higher) for URLs accessed by the Intelligence Server when exporting reports, documents, and dossiers to PDF or Excel. This tool can be used to whitelist only those safe URLs to protect against Server Side Request Forgery attacks. For more information, click here.
  • MicroStrategy Library upgraded its HTTP client to OkHttp 3.14.8. This may impact customers upgrading from MicroStrategy 2019. For more information, see KB484336: Upgrading your TLS certificate in MicroStrategy 2020.
