Certify Migration Packages

Starting in MicroStrategy 2021 Update 8, migration packages can be certified by users with certain permissions. Certified items have typically been reviewed by trusted members of your organization. For migration packages we recommend using certification as a sign that the package is ready for migration or that it was safely tested and can be migrated to the production environment.

For example, an Analyst can add certification to migration package, providing other users with information that said package was tested after migration and can now be migrated again to the production environment

Privileges

To certify migration packages, users must have at least the following privileges:

Create Package Enables access to the Migrations section in the Navigation pane.

Manage Package Certifications

  1. Open the Workstation window.

  2. In the Navigation pane, click Migrations.

  3. Right-click a package.

  4. Users with the Certify Package privilege can choose to Certify or Decertify a package, as well as Reject Request for certification. A package can also be certified when it is first created by selecting the Certify Package checkbox on the New Migration Package dialog.

  5. Users without the Certify Package privilege can choose to Request Certification or Reverse Request.
