Strategy One
Filter Panel
Beginning in Strategy One (March 2026), a filter that uses a calendar selector can now target other filters on the Filter panel. They can also be targeted by other filters. For more details on cascading targeted filters, see Use Attribute Filters to Target Other Attribute Filters within a Chapter.
The Filter panel displays a list of all filters for the current chapter. The selections you make in the Filter panel affect every visualization in the current chapter in the dashboard. A filter on a chapter also filters the data in any dataset objects (that is, attributes and metrics) in text fields on the chapter.
If Apply Selections To > All Chapters Containing This Filter is enabled, then any changes you make to the filter affect other chapters that contain the same filter.
Starting in Strategy One (February 2026), you can choose the operators Between, Before, On, or After to easily create date filters. In the example below, Before is selected. To select a date using the calendar, click the Calendar icon
. To define a dynamic date, enable Show Dynamic Date on the calendar.
-
You can also choose quick dynamic date options such as last seven days, today, and month to date (MTD) when the filter is a date. In the example below, the current date is February 6, 2026. When QTD (Quarter to Date) is selected in the chapter filter, it resolves to the date range of day 1 of the quarter (1/1/26) through the current date. For steps, see Filter a Chapter by Creating a Quick Dynamic Date.
Dynamic dates are not available for filters using parameters, including value parameters and element parameters that use the calendar style.
Starting in MicroStrategy ONE (December 2024) for Workstation and Library Web, and in Strategy One (March 2025) for Library iOS, if the Display Filter and Selector Description dashboard property is enabled, object descriptions display as tooltips in filters. For example, a dashboard contains a derived metric, Profit, with the description Revenue - Cost. The property is enabled, so the information icon
displays in the Filter panel. Hover your cursor over the information icon to display the description.
