Use Auto Dashboard to Create Dashboard Pages with Visualizations

Starting in MicroStrategy ONE Update 12, Auto Dashboard is only available in Library and is no longer supported in Workstation. If you are using MicroStrategy ONE Update 12 or later, see Use Auto Dashboard to Create Dashboard Pages with Visualizations.

Auto Dashboard is supported in MicroStrategy Cloud environments. Starting in MicroStrategy ONE (March 2024), Auto Dashboard is also supported in the MicroStrategy Cloud for Government platform.

In MicroStrategy ONE Update 11, you can use Auto Dashboard to automatically create a dashboard page with visualizations based on your dataset. You can create a dashboard page using any locales and visualizations will generate following your locale setting.

You must have the Use Auto Assistant and ML Visualizations privilege.

  1. Create or open an existing dashboard.

    2. You must have a minimum of one dataset.

  2. Click the Auto Dashboard icon in the upper-right.

  3. Type a question or choose from the AI-generated list of content suggestions. Examples of questions depend on the attributes and metrics in your dataset.

    4. Questions that you can type to generate meaningful content include:

  • Sales Analysis: Revenue analysis based on Product Category, and what are the trends over Time?
    • This question requires that you have a category and year or any time related attributes in addition to revenue or sales metrics in the dataset.
  • Customer Insights: Who are our most profitable customers, and what are their purchasing patterns over time?
    • This question requires that you have customer and time attributes in addition to profit related metrics in the dataset.
  • Employee Productivity: How are our employees performing?
    • This question requires that you have employee related attributes and performance related metrics in the dataset.

  1. You can edit content generated by Auto Dashboard as you would any other content.
  2. To generate more pages or content using Auto Dashboard, repeat steps 2 and 3.

Auto Dashboard Considerations

Auto Dashboard understands user input and object names in most languages. The dataset objects should have meaningful and human readable names.

Dashboard pages and content generated by the Auto Dashboard will have human readable titles according to your locale setting.
