Data Refresh Settings

Starting in MicroStrategy ONE (September 2024), you can automatically refresh content of a workbook for the MicroStrategy for Excel Add-in.

Auto refresh works on a workbook level, unlike other settings that are configured on a user level. A refresh can be triggered by any user, within a chosen time interval, after connecting to the MicroStrategy for Excel Add-in. The data does not reflect information within user privileges and access rights. Auto refresh does not block your ability to manually refresh.

Your import options will save until you manually update them.

  1. Click More Items in the Excel add-in side panel and click Settings.

  2. Expand the Data Refresh section.

  3. Toggle on Auto Refresh to allow workbooks to refresh after a user logs into the MicroStrategy for Excel Add-in after the saved time interval has passed.

    This setting is toggled off by default. Once it is enabled, the functionality will be enabled on the workbook level. Therefore, all users will have the setting enabled.

  4. In Refresh Interval, set an interval for the workbook to refresh.

    A refresh will only trigger after the interval has passed and a user logs in to a workbook. Auto refresh will not trigger during active user sessions to avoid work interruptions.
