Enabling OIDC Authentication for Strategy for Power BI

Utilize OpenID Connect (OIDC) throughout Strategy for Power BI to support frictionless authentication and usage. OIDC authentication supports automatic and scheduled refresh in Power BI.

  1. Open Power BI.
  2. From File, go to Get data > Get data to get started > Strategy for Power BI.
  3. Click Connect.

  4. Enter your REST API URL and add the #OIDCMode parameter to the end of the URL. For example, https://mstr.mycompany.com/MicroStrategyLibrary/#OIDCMode.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Go to the Library/OIDC tab.

  7. Click Sign in.

  8. Select your account and enter your password.

  9. Upon successful login, click Connect.

  10. Proceed with data import. See Strategy for Power BI for information.
