MicroStrategy ONE
Create a Bot with Existing Data
MicroStrategy ONE (September 2024) adds support for multiple datasets in bots as well as support for report objects as a valid dataset format. You can also edit datasets used for Bot creation. Earlier platform versions do not support editing datasets when the bot was created with the Existing Data option.
Starting in MicroStrategy ONE Update 12, you can create bots with a single dataset. Only in-memory OLAP and MTDI cube datasets are supported.
Use the steps below to create a Bot based on data available in your project, such as a report or dataset. If the Bot needs data not already in your project, use the steps in Create and Edit Bots instead. The data should contain all the information that the bot needs to answer the questions it will be asked.
You can also add more datasets (new or existing) once the bot is built. For more information, see Advanced Data Preparation.
The following object types are not supported datasets for bots:
- Prompted reports (system prompts are supported)
- Live-connect cubes
- MDX reports
- Reports with recursive attributes
If a stand-alone, in-memory cube is changed to direct data access (DDA) outside of the bot, the bot no longer supports the data.
Prerequisites
Ensure that you have the correct privileges, as outlined in Prerequisites.
Use Existing Data to Create a Bot
- Choose Create New > Bot.
- If you have access to multiple projects, from the Create Bot In drop-down list, select the project to create the bot in.
- Select one or more datasets or reports.
- Click Create to create your bot with the selected data.
If you encounter a server error when you pick a dataset, ensure the dataset has been published before importing. If a database is grayed out, refer to its associated documentation to configure sources correctly.
For steps to continue creating the bot, see Customize Your Bot .
