Time Series Slider Dialog Box

You can specify display options for a Time Series Slider widget, such as the location of the graph legend, using the Time Series Slider dialog box.

  • Display legend outside of graph: Determine whether to display the graph legend inside or outside the graph.
  • Enable fixed Y-axis: Select whether to maintain the height of the Y-axis or have it resize automatically.
    • If this checkbox is selected, the Y-axis of the primary graph remains at a fixed height regardless of the data or any changes to the data.
    • If this checkbox is cleared, the Y-axis automatically resizes based on the data that is displayed.
  • Enable Data Sampling: Determine whether the graph displays the entire dataset or only a subset. If this checkbox is selected, an equally dispersed set of X-axis values are displayed on the graph to give you an overall impression about the graph's values. You should enable this option only if you are working with datasets in which removing data points will not affect the overall meaning of the graph.
  • Data Sampling Maximum Window Size: Type the maximum number of values to display in the data sampling. Available only if data sampling is enabled.
  • All series as line graphs: Determine whether to display all series as line graphs. By default, the first series in the graph is displayed as an area graph. Select this checkbox to display the first series, as well as all the others, as a line graph.
  • Slider: Define the slider position by selecting one of the following:
    • To save the slider position, select the Save Slider Position option. When this document is saved and re-executed, the most recent slider position is used to determine what range is displayed.
    • To set a default slider position, select the Set Default Slider Position option, then choose one of the following:
      • To display the entire graph, select Entire Available Range.
      • To specify the total number of data points to display, select Last Points in the Range and type a number in the field, starting from the last point in the graph. For example, type 5 in the field to display the last five data points in the graph.
  • Selectable Area: Choose which part of the widget to use as the selector, by selecting one of the following:
    • To use the slider as the selector, select Slider.
    • To use the primary graph as the selector, select Primary Graph.
  • Change selection on mouse over: Determine whether to update the target with a mouseover or a click. Available if the primary graph is defined as the selector.
