Formatting the color of the bar risers (widget)

You can specify the color of the:

The area graph series, bars, bubbles, and check boxes are the bar risers of the widgets.

To specify the color of the bar risers

  1. Open the document in the Document Editor. (How?)

    You can also use Design Mode or Editable Mode in MicroStrategy Web.

  2. Select the Grid/Graph containing the widget.

  3. In the Property List: Appearance section, set View mode to Graph.

    If the Property List is not displayed, click Property List at the bottom of the panel on the left. If the panel is not displayed at all, select Property List from the View menu.

  4. Edit the Grid/Graph by double-clicking it. A red hashed border displays around it, indicating that the Grid/Graph is in edit mode.

  5. Right-click the graph and select Graph Style. The Graph Style dialog box opens.

  6. Select Bar from the list of graph styles.

  7. Click OK to save the graph style.

  8. For each series in the graph, do the following:

    1. Right-click the series in the graph and select Format Bar Riser. The Preferences dialog box opens, with that series selected in the categories on the left.

    2. Select the Fill subcategory. Format the color of the bar riser. For a full listing and descriptions of all the options, see Fill formatting for graph objects.

    3. Select the Line subcategory. Format the color, style, and thickness of the line around the bar riser. For a full listing and descriptions of all the options, see Line and border formatting for graph objects.

    4. Click OK to save the changes.

  9. Press ESC to exit edit mode.
