Report Details Properties dialog box: Filter Details - Contents tab

The Filter Details - Contents tab of the Report Details Properties dialog box contains configuration options for the Filter Details auto text codes, which display information about filters on the report. This tab allows you to configure the content of the filter details auto text code, by selecting which filter expressions to include (report filter, view filter, report limits, and so on) and how the filters are displayed. For example, you can select whether to include labels (that is, Report Filter, Report Limits, and so on) and the order in which the filter expressions are displayed.

The dialog box contains the following sections:

By default, each setting on this tab inherits the document or report setting, as described in Configuring auto text codes. If you are configuring the auto text codes in a specific text field, the setting is inherited from the document setting. If you are configuring all the auto text codes in the document, the setting is inherited from the report setting. You can return to this default by selecting Inherit from the drop-down list for the specific setting.

General

Select whether to include or omit each of the following filter sub-expressions.

  • Report Filter. If you select Yes, the following properties become available:

  • Report Filter Name: Choose whether to include it, omit it, inherit the setting, or automatic. If you select automatic, the report filter name is displayed for a stand-alone filter, but is omitted for an embedded filter.

  • Report Filter Description: Choose whether to include it, omit it, or inherit the setting.

  • Report Limits

  • View Filter - only for View Reports. This applies to view reports based on Cubes only. If you select Yes, the following property becomes available:

  • Metric Qualification in View Filter: Choose whether to include it, omit it, or inherit the setting.

  • Drill Filter. When the document is drilled on, this property determines whether or not the attribute element(s) drilled on are displayed in the report details of the drill report (the report created by drilling on a Grid/Graph).The drill filter is the attribute

  • Security Filter

Additional Options

You can configure how the filters are displayed in the filter details by specifying the following properties:

  • Include filter type name: specifies whether to include the names of the filter types (that is, Report Filter, View Filter, and so on).

  • Show empty expressions: If the filter type name is included, specify whether to include empty expressions. An empty expression is a filter type that is not included on the dataset report.

  • New line after filter type name: determines whether to add a new line after each filter type name, before the actual definition of the filter.

  • New line between filter types: determines whether to add a new line after each filter type to help differentiate between them.

  • Show report limits: determines whether to show the report limits before or after the view filter.

  • Expand shortcut filters: specifies whether to expand shortcut filters, which are stand-alone filters used in the report filter. The options are:

  • Show Filter Name

  • Show Filter Definition

  • Show Name and Definition
