Pick Dataset dialog box

A Grid/Graph placeholder is an empty Grid/Graph, without a dataset to populate the Grid/Graph with data. Use the Pick Dataset dialog box to add any report as the dataset of the placeholder. The report does not need to be on the document already; if you select a report that is not part of the document, the report is added as a dataset.

By default, the formatting of the Grid/Graph placeholder is used. To copy the formatting from the dataset report instead, select the Use formatting of this report check box.

Accessing the Pick Dataset dialog box

Right-click an empty Grid/Graph (a Grid/Graph placeholder) and select Pick Dataset.
