Properties dialog box: Panels tab

This tab is available only if the selected control is a panel stack, which is a collection of panels. Panels allow the user to layer different predefined views of data in the same document.

The Panels tab allows you to work with all the panels in the panel stack at the same time. It includes the following:

  • A list of the panels in the selected panel stack.

  • Add: Adds a new panel after the selected panel.

  • Duplicate: Copies the selected panel. The new panel is added after the selected panel.

  • Move Up: Re-orders the panels in the panel stack by moving the selected panel forward one panel.

  • Move Down: Re-orders the panels in the panel stack by moving the selected panel back one panel.

Re-ordering panels allows you to set the order in which users view the panels.

  • Set as Current: Sets the selected panel as the current panel, that is, the panel that is initially displayed to the user. In PDF View, the current panel is displayed/printed; the user cannot change to a different panel. Design View displays the current panel, as well.

  • Rename: Renames the selected panel. This name is used in the selector, if you link one to this panel stack, and can be displayed in the title bar. Type the new name in the panel list.

  • Delete: Removes the selected panel.

You cannot delete the selected panel if it is the only panel in the panel stack.

You can access the Panels tab by either of the following methods:
