MicroStrategy ONE
Report Services Dialog
Report Services is a MicroStrategy product that allows the Web Professional to design documents. You must own the MicroStrategy Report Services product to analyze data using documents in MicroStrategy Web.
The Report Services page allows you to set default options for Report Services documents. To access this page, see How to Access Project Defaults and User Preferences
Options denoted with an asterisk (*) are available only to administrators. They do not appear as options in the User Preferences page accessible by users.
Fields
Dots per inch (DPI): Specify the resolution in which documents appear n Web. 96 DPI is the default DPI setting.
Documents: Define the following options for Report Services documents:
- Alignment grid density: Specify the density of the grid to which objects snap. This determines how easy it is to shift objects around a document. The options are Low, Medium (default), and High.
- Selection Behavior: Specify whether the drawing of a selection box selects objects that it intersects. To select an object even if it only partially covers that object (default), select Partially Enclosed. To select only objects completely covered by the selection box, select Fully Enclosed.
-
Document Width Mode Calculation: This option, in conjunction with the Document width mode option in the Properties dialog box, affects the width of the document, as follows:
-
When both the Document width mode and the Document Width Mode Calculation options are set to Automatic (the default), the width of the document displayed in Web will be as wide as necessary to show all the content on the page.
-
When the Document width mode option is set to Off and the Document Width Mode Calculation preference is set to Automatic, the width of the document displayed in Web will not grow to accommodate additional content. This may cause parts of the document to be cut off in some cases.
-
When the Document Width Mode Calculation preference is set to Off, the Document width mode option has no effect on the document. This may cause parts of the document to be cut off in some cases.
You may be able to increase document performance by setting a document's Document width mode to Off, instead of Automatic. If you switch a document from Off to Automatic width mode, this may result in slower document execution.
-
Document Section Height Mode Calculation: This option, in conjunction with the Height can shrink and Height can grow options in the Properties and Formatting dialog box, affects the height of the document sections, as follows:
-
When the Document Section Height Mode Calculation option is set to Automatic (the default), the Height can shrink and Height can grow options are applied to the height of the document sections.
-
When the Document Section Height Mode Calculation option is set to Off, the Height can shrink and Height can grow options do not affect the height of the document sections.
* Default Document Execution Mode: This option allows you to set the default display mode in which to run documents in Web:
-
When the Default Document Execution Mode option is set to Read from Document (the default), the documents are executed based on the formatting options selected in the Document Properties dialog box.
-
When the Default Document Execution Mode option is set to PDF, the documents are always executed in PDF format.
