How to Sort the List of Projects

You can determine how the list of projects displayed the MicroStrategy Web project selection page is sorted.

1. Access the MicroStrategy Web Administrator page. (How?)

2. From the pane on the left, select Default properties. The Default Server Properties page opens.

3. In the Project list sorting area, select one of the following from the Server sorting drop-down list:

   • None: Projects are sorted regardless of the Intelligence Servers in which they reside.

   • Default: Intelligence Servers are sorted in the order in which MicroStrategy Web connects to them, and then projects are sorted within each Intelligence Server.

   • By Name: Intelligence Servers are sorted alphabetically by name, and then projects are sorted within each Intelligence Server.

4. Once the project selection page is sorted by Intelligence Server in the manner you specified above, the projects are sorted according to the Project sorting setting. To sort the list of projects in the project selection page, select one of the following from the Project sorting list drop-down list:

   • Default: Projects are sorted in the order in which they are returned from the Intelligence Server.

   • By Name: Projects are sorted by the name (or alias) of each project, in ascending order.

   • By Description: Projects are sorted by the description of each project, in ascending order.

5. Click Save.

6. Return to the project selection page to confirm that the list of Intelligence Servers and projects is sorted in the desired manner.
