How to Create Color Palettes

You can create color palettes to further fine-tune the colors in a dashboard.

  1. Log into MicroStrategy Web using an account with administrative privileges.
  2. Click the username drop-down in the upper-right and choose Preferences.
  3. In the left pane, choose Project Defaults > Color Palette.
  4. Click Add a Palette.
  5. Enter the name of the color palette in Name.
  6. Click each color to add it to the color palette. A swatch representing the color appears in the Palette colors pane at the bottom of the color picker.
  7. To remove a color from the color palette, click the color in the Palette colors pane.
  8. Click Paint Palette to select colors not in the color picker or define colors using hex codes.
  9. Click a color in the outside ring. To adjust a color's shade, click the shade in the box. Double-click a color to add it to the Palette colors pane.
  10. To use a hex code to add a color, type the hex code in Color HEX and press the Enter key.
  11. To remove a color, click the color in the Palette colors pane.
  12. Click Color Picker to switch back to the color picker.
  13. Click OK.
  14. Select the Available checkbox next to the new palette to make it available across all dashboards in your project.
