About custom group advanced qualifications

Advanced qualifications include custom expressions and joint element lists.

  • Custom expressions allow you to create custom qualifications according to your requirements. For example, you can use pass-through expressions (such as the Apply functions) in the qualification definition for the custom group element.

  • Joint element lists allow you to choose attribute elements from different attributes to create a custom set of attribute elements. Unlike attribute qualifications, joint element lists also allow you to join attribute elements and then filter on that attribute result set. For example, if you choose the attributes Year and Store, you can create a qualification using a joint element list that allows you to filter on elements from both attributes.

As the example shows, a joint element list allows you to filter not only on a particular year, but also on a store during that year.

By default, the Advanced Qualifications option is not displayed in the Custom Group Editor. You must activate it first.

For instructions on how to create custom group qualifications, see:

Advanced qualifications in custom groups are the same as advanced qualifications in filters.

For a more detailed example, refer to the Advanced Filters chapter in the Advanced Reporting Help.
