Editing custom groups

Once you create a custom group, you can modify the elements or qualifications, or create additional elements and qualifications.

To edit a custom group

1. Double-click the custom group to edit. The Custom Group Editor opens.

2. For each custom group element, you can do the following:

   • Rename the element header

   • Specify the custom group element display

   • Format the element

3. You can change how the custom group as a whole is displayed. How?

4. To modify an existing qualification, follow the steps below:

   • Double-click the qualification in the Custom Group Definition pane. The appropriate qualification pane for the qualification type opens.

   • Make any necessary changes, then click OK to return to the Custom Group Definition pane.

5. To add a new qualification, follow the procedure for the type of qualification to create:

   • Add an Attribute qualification filters on an attribute form (such as ID or description) or on elements of the attribute. For further instructions, see Creating custom group attribute qualifications.

   • Add a Set qualification allows you to build one of the following:

     • Metric qualification creates a set of attributes based on the metrics associated with those attributes. For further instructions, see Creating custom group metric qualifications.

     • Relationship qualification creates a set of attributes based on the relationships between the attributes. For further instructions, see Creating custom group relationship qualifications.

   • Add a Shortcut to a Report uses an existing report as a filter in another report. For further instructions, see Creating custom group shortcut-to-a-report qualifications.

   • Add a Shortcut to a Filter uses an existing filter as a base to add more conditions to further refine the filter. For further instructions, see Creating custom group shortcut-to-a-filter qualifications.

   • Add an Advanced qualification allows you to build one of the following:

     • Custom expression allows you to create custom expressions and filter on the result. For further instructions, see Creating custom expression qualifications for custom groups.

     • Joint element list allows you to choose attribute elements from different attributes to filter the report result set. For further instructions, see Creating joint element list qualifications for custom groups.

6. Once you have finished modifying the custom group, save it. How?
