Create a Report Theme

Starting in Strategy One (December 2025), you can create and apply a theme to update multiple formatting settings at once. A theme is a predefined grid format. Theme formatting includes:

  • Template Style and Color

  • Banding

  • Merge Row and Column Headers

  • Spacing

  • Cell formatting for All, Both Axes, Rows, Columns, and All Metrics

    The formatting applied to a specific object is not saved in a theme.

Create the theme in Workstation; apply it to reports using Workstation and Library.

You create a theme by formatting a report and saving the formatting as a theme. The report's data is not saved with the theme.

Create a Report Theme

  1. Open the Workstation window.

  2. In the Navigation pane, click Reports.

  3. Double-click the report to use as a theme.

  4. Format the report.

  5. From the Format menu, select Save As Theme.

  6. Type the theme's name in the Save As box.

  7. Navigate to the location to save the report in.

  8. You can certify the theme, meaning it has been reviewed and is considered an official format for your organization. Click the Certify check box.

  9. Click Save.
