MicroStrategy ONE

View and Edit Advanced Settings

You can view and edit advanced settings for dashboards, documents, and reports based on an OLAP cube that you have permission to access through a connected environment. Advanced settings affect how MicroStrategy Intelligence Server manages joins, metric calculations, query optimizations, etc.

Modifying any advanced setting should be performed with caution only after understanding the effects of the settings you want to apply. A given advanced setting can support or optimize one system setup, but the same setting can cause performance issues or errors for other systems. Your ability to edit advanced settings depends on your own permissions. You may not have all of the options listed below.

  1. Open the Workstation window.
  2. In the Navigation pane, click Dashboards , Documents, Datasets, or Reports.

  3. Right-click a dashboard, document, or report and choose Properties.
  4. In the left pane, click Advanced Settings.
  5. Choose whether to view All Properties or Edited Properties.
  6. To export a .csv file of the advanced settings, click Export .
  7. Hover over a setting and click Edit to modify it.
  8. Navigate through the properties in the left pane and make any necessary changes to the corresponding settings in the right pane. You can restore the default value for a setting by selecting the Use Inherited Value (Default) checkbox.
  9. Use the icons at the bottom of the left pane to toggle between expanding and collapsing categories, viewing all or edited properties, and resetting all properties to their default values.
  10. Click OK twice.
