MicroStrategy ONE

Property List: Rectangle properties

Appearance

  • Name: identifies the control.

  • 3D effect: sets whether the rectangle appears flat/two-dimensional or three-dimensional. The options are:

    • None

    • Sunken

    • Raised

The 3D effect border takes precedence over any existing border. If you later disable the 3D effect, the original border settings are restored.

  • 3D weight: sets the weight of the three-dimensional borders around the rectangle.

  • Backcolor: opens the Color dialog box, which allows you to set the color of the rectangle.

  • Backstyle: sets whether the background of the rectangle is Transparent or Opaque.

  • Drop shadow: sets whether the rectangle uses a drop shadow for a floating effect.

  • Drop shadow depth: sets the weight of the drop shadow borders around the rectangle.

  • Gradient color: sets the second color to use to create a gradual color change in the rectangle. The Backcolor and Gradient color are blended together.

  • Gradient variant: sets the direction of the shading between the Backcolor and Gradient color.

Line properties are not available for rounded rectangles because they do not have borders.

  • Line color: opens the Color dialog box, which allows you to set the color of the borderlines.

  • Line style: sets the type of borderlines from the following choices:

    • Solid

    • Dashed

    • Dotted

    • Double

    • None

  • Line weight: sets the thickness of the borderlines measured in points.

  • Tooltip: contains the pop-up text that is displayed when a user positions the cursor over this control in MicroStrategy Web.

  • Visible: determines whether the rectangle is visible when a user views the document. By default, it is visible.

Even when this property is set to False, the control is still visible in Design View.

The following properties are displayed for rounded rectangles only:

  • Rounded corner radius: sets how round the corners are. A larger radius produces a more rounded corner. The range is 0-20.

  • Tooltip: contains the pop-up text that is displayed when a user positions the mouse over this control in MicroStrategy Web.

  • Top corners only: determines whether rounded corners are displayed for the top corners only or all four corners.

  • Visible: determines whether the rectangle is displayed when a user views the document. By default, it is visible.

Even when this property is set to False, the control is still visible in Design View.

Position

  • Left: sets the distance between the left edge of the rectangle and the left border of the section.

  • Top: sets the distance between the top edge of the rectangle and the top of the section.

  • Locked: determines whether the control can be resized or moved.

This is useful when a document template contains an object that should not be moved or resized inadvertently when multiple objects are selected at the same time. For basic information on templates, see Creating document templates; for instructions to select multiple objects simultaneously, see Selecting multiple controls simultaneously.

The lock functionality only applies to MicroStrategy Web. You can select or clear the Locked property in MicroStrategy Developer, but the control can still be sized or moved in MicroStrategy Developer.

Size

  • Height: sets the height of the rectangle.

  • Height mode: determines whether the height is dynamic. The Height modes are

  • Fixed: the height does not change from the set size.

  • 100%: sets the rectangle height to the height of the section.

  • Width: sets the width of the control.

  • Width mode: determines whether the width is dynamic. The Width modes are similar to the Height modes described above.
