Gauge: General category

In the General category for Gauge graphs, some or all of the following options are available depending on what type of Gauge graph you are formatting:

  • Gauge Style: Define whether the Gauge graph is displayed in the Old (pre-8.1) Gauge graph style or the New gauge graph style. The New gauge graph style has more vibrant colors and effects and also enables border formatting.

  • Start Angle: Defines the angle at which the maximum value of the graph is displayed. The gauge dial is then drawn from this start angle to the stop angle, or minimum value of the graph.

  • Stop Angle: Defines the angle at which the minimum value of the graph is displayed. The gauge dial is then drawn from the start angle, or maximum value of the graph, and ends at this stop angle.

  • Range Thickness: Defines the width of the gauge dials. This option only applies to gauge graphs that use Old as the gauge style.

  • Gauges Per Row: Defines the number of gauges to display on each horizontal row.

  • Border Thickness: Defines the width of the border displayed on the edges of the gauge.

  • Draw Data Labels: Displays or hides the data labels for each gauge graph. Only one data label is displayed for each gauge.

  • Show Beveled Frame: Displays or hides a beveled (or raised) effect for the frame that surrounds a group of gauges.

  • Show Secondary Values as Needles: For gauges that plot multiple data values, this option defines whether the data values are displayed as needles or as markers. Select this option to display all data values for a gauge as needles.

  • Draw Axis Label Outside: Displays the axis label on the outside or inside of the gauge graph. This option is only available for the Old style gauge graph.

  • Needle style: Defines the appearance of the needles displayed in the gauge. This option is only available for the New style gauge graph.

  • Border style: Defines the style of border displayed on the edges of the gauge. This option is only available for the New style gauge graph. If you use a border style other than No Border, you can define the fill formatting for the border. You can define this formatting within the Gauge Border category, which is displayed underneath the Gauge Options.
