Formatting the axes in a graph report

You can format all the axes in a graph report. The axes of a graph are the lines surrounding the graph that define the coordinates for the graph data. Where data risers and markers are displayed in relation to these axis lines defines the values shown on the graph.

To format the axes in a graph report

1. Open a report. (How?)

2. If the report is not already in Graph view, from the View menu, select Graph View to display the report as a graph.

3. From the Graph menu, select Grids and Scales. The Preferences dialog box opens.

4. Expand the Axes category, and select an axis to format. You can expand the category for the axis to access various formatting options which include:

   • Grids and Scales

   • Major and Minor Gridlines

   • Axis Labels

   • Axis Line

   • Font

   • Fill

   • Border

   • Number Formatting

5. After you finish with one formatting category, do either one of the following:

   • Click Apply to save the selections without closing the dialog box. Then continue with the rest of the tabs.

   • Click OK to save the selections and close the dialog box.
