Map an Imported Attribute to a Project Attribute

Attributes defined on a project schema, generally by an Admin user, are referred to as project attributes. Project attributes do not include attributes defined in other data import cubes, dashboards, etc.

You can map imported attributes within a dataset to an existing project attribute and its corresponding attribute forms. The document containing the dataset must be connected to a remote environment and not stored locally. In addition, you must be connected to the Intelligence Server.

  1. Open the Preview dialog.
  2. Right-click on an attribute. Press and hold the Ctrl key to select multiple attributes.
  3. Click Map to Project Attribute.

  4. Select an attribute.
  5. If necessary, select additional attributes from the drop-downs in the left panel.

If you select linked attributes, the linked attributes in the other tables will also be mapped to the project attribute.

  6. Click Submit.

Edit or Unmap Mapped Project Attributes

You may have mapped imported attributes to a project attribute with multiple forms. When you edit this mapping, you can switch to a project attribute that contains fewer forms. However, some forms may be automatically ignored if the number of project attribute forms are less than previously selected.

You previously mapped YearID and Day of the Week to the Year project attribute. Year contains the ID and DATE forms. You change the project attribute to Day, which only contains an ID form, so the other forms no longer appear.

  1. Open the Preview dialog.
  2. Right-click a mapped attribute.
  3. Click Unmap from Project Attribute.
