Group Tables

Tables that contain the exact same set of objects can be grouped together to represent a single table.

  • Group tables are not supported in following scenarios:
    • Multiple partitioned tables in a database with the same DBRole and namespace
    • Multiple .csv files in a URL location
    • Multiple Excel sheets
    • Partitioned tables from two different sources.
    1. Create a document or open an existing one.
    2. Choose Data > Add Dataset.
    3. Click Add External Data.
    4. Select a database source.
    5. Import tables with the same schema.
    6. Click Prepare Data.
    7. During import a dialog appears prompting you to select the tables you want to group.
    8. You can add or remove tables from the existing partition on the Preview Dialog. Click the drop-down arrow for the table you want to modify, choose Group Partition, and select or deselect tables.
