Strategy ONE

Import Data by Scraping a Wikipedia Page for Public Data

You can import data by extracting data from, or scraping, a Wikipedia page. The system imports the data as HTML tables. You can use web scraping to identify changes to pages.

Provide the URL for the Wikipedia page you want to import. You can also look up a topic, and from the results, choose the HTML tables you want to include for import.

  1. Create a document or open an existing one.
  2. Choose Data > Add Dataset.
  3. Click Add External Data.
  4. Click Public Data.
  5. Search for your data and click Search.
  6. Select the checkboxes for the sources you want to import.
  7. Click Finish and Save.
