Variable declining balance

Returns the depreciation of an asset over a specified period, including partial periods.

Syntax

Vdb <Factor> (Cost, Salvage, Life, Period)

Where:

Factor is the rate at which balance declines.

Cost is the initial cost of the asset.

Salvage is the value at the end of the depreciation period.

Life is the number of periods over which depreciation is calculated.

Period is the first period for which depreciation is calculated. This must use the same number of units as Life.

Usage Notes

All values must be positive.
