Straight-line depreciation

Returns the straight-line depreciation of an asset over a given period. This is the simplest method of depreciation and represents an equal amount charged for each period during the useful life of the asset after allowing for a salvage value.

Syntax

Sln(Cost, Salvage, Life)

Where:

Cost is the initial cost of the asset.

Salvage, also called the salvaged value of an asset, is the residual value at the end of the estimated life span.

Life, also called the useful life of an asset, is the number of periods over which the asset is being depreciated.
