Locking column headers

You can lock row and column headers on a grid report or a template for grid reports. This functionality enables scrolling back and forth, both horizontally and vertically, without losing sight of the row or column names. This property is helpful when you want to view information that spans more rows or columns than can be displayed at one time.

The procedure below locks column headers so you can scroll up and down and not lose sight of the column names. To apply this same functionality to rows, see Locking row headers.

To lock column headers

1. Open the Template Editor or the Report Editor, as shown below:

   • Steps to access the Template Editor

   • Steps to access the Report Editor

2. From the Grid menu, choose LockColumnHeaders.

   If the button is already selected (a box appears around the icon), then the headers are already locked. Selecting this button unlocks the column headers.
