Pareto: Additional formatting options

In addition to using the option tabs in the Graph Preferences dialog box to configure the graph components, you can also right-click some components in the graph to modify their look and feel or drill down to get details of report data.

Some or all of the following options are available depending on what graph substyle is displayed for your Pareto chart graph report:

  • Format Y1 Axis Label: Right-click the Y1 Axis labels on the left of the graph and select Format Y1 Axis Label. Select the desired Font format in the dialog box.

  • Clear Y1 Axis Label: Right-click the Y1 Axis labels on the left of the graph and select Clear Y1 Axis Label from the pop-up list to remove the labels from the graph.

  • Format Y2 Axis Label: Right-click the Y2 Axis labels on the left of the graph and select Format Y2 Axis Label, and then select the desired Font format in the dialog box.

  • Clear Y2 Axis Label: Right-click the Y2 Axis labels on the left of the graph and select Clear Y2 Axis Label from the pop-up list to remove the labels from the graph.

  • Format Bar Riser: Right-click a bar riser, select Format Bar Riser from the pop-up list, and then select the desired Line and Fill format for all the bar risers in the same data series. Perform the same procedure for other bar risers that need to be modified.

  • Bar Width/ Spacing/ Overlap: Right-click a bar, select Bar Width, Bar Spacing, or Bar Overlap from the pop-up list, and then select the desired width, spacing, or overlap format from options of Minimum, Small, Medium, Large, or Maximum.

  • Descending Scale: draws the values and their associated risers and gridlines in a descending order. Values on the Y1 axis are taken from the rows and columns of cells in your data sheet. Axis value labels and risers are drawn in ascending or descending order depending on this selection.

  • Format Frame: Right-click anywhere in the graph and select Format Frame from the pop-up list. Select the desired Line and Fill format in the dialog box.

  • Format X1 Axis Label: Right-click the X1 Axis labels at the bottom of the graph, and select Format X1 Axis Label from the pop-up list. Select the desired Font format from the dialog box.

  • Clear X1 Axis Label: Right-click the X1 Axis labels at the bottom of the graph and select Clear X1 Axis Label from the pop-up list to remove the labels from the graph.

  • Format Legend Marker: Right-click the legend of the graph and select Format Legend Marker from the pop-up list to remove the labels from the graph.

  • Format Y1 Major Grid: Right-click any Y1 Axis grid line and select Format Y1 Major Grid from the pop-up list. Select the desired Line and Fill format from the dialog box.

  • Format X1 Axis Line: Right-click the X1 Axis line and select Format X1 Axis Line from the pop-up list. Select the desired Line and Fill format from the dialog box.

  • Format Y1 Axis Line: Right-click the Y1 Axis line and select Format Y1 Axis Line from the pop-up list. Select the desired Line and Fill format from the dialog box.

  • Format Data Marker: Right-click any data marker and select Format Data Marker from the pop-up list. Select the desired Line and Fill format from the dialog box.

    This option can be selected only if you select the Show Percent check box from the Layout tab for this graph.

  • Format Data Line: Right-click the data line and click and select Format Data Line from the pop-up list. Select the desired Line and Fill format from the dialog box.

    This option can be selected only if you select the Show Percent check box from the Layout tab for this graph.
