Create Stand-Alone Datasets

You must be connected to an environment to add a new stand-alone dataset from the Navigation pane. A stand-alone dataset is created outside a dashboard and saved to an environment.

  1. Open the Workstation window with the Navigation pane in smart mode.
  2. In the Navigation pane, click , next to Datasets.
  3. Select the environment and navigate to the location where you want to save the dataset.
  4. Choose a data source and select the appropriate options to import and refine your data. See Import Data for more information.
  5. To import additional data sources, click Add a new table on the Preview Dialog and add the data. This allows you to combine different data sources (Excel files, Google BigQuery tables, etc.) into one dataset. All data shown on the Preview dialog is combined into one dataset. See Add Multiple Datasets for information on adding multiple datasets.
  6. Click Finish.
  7. Navigate to the location where you want to save the dataset.
  8. In Save As, enter the name of the new dataset.
  9. Click Save.
