Add Datasets to a Dashboard

Add datasets to the Datasets panel by connecting to a data source and importing data.

You can also create a new dataset by adding objects from a project on a server. See Add Existing Objects for more information.

  1. Create a blank dashboard or open an existing one.
  2. Click More at the top of the Datasets panel and choose Add New Data > New Data. The Data Sources dialog opens.
  3. Click Live Connect Only/All Connectors to toggle between displaying data sources that access data directly (that is, live connect) or data sources that also access data from memory. See Define the Access Mode for a Dataset for more information.
  4. Click the data source and select the appropriate options to import and refine your data.

  5. To additional data sources to your dataset, click Add a new table on the Preview Dialog and add the data. This allows you to combine different data sources (Excel files, Google BigQuery tables, etc.) into one dataset. All data shown on the Preview dialog is combined into one dataset.
