Enabling SAML Authentication Mode

Chrome Web Browser version 80 introduces new changes to cross-site embedding. For more information, see KB484005: Chrome v80 Cookie Behavior and the Impact on MicroStrategy Deployments.

To use SAML authentication it needs to be enabled on MicroStrategy Library as a login mode.

  1. Launch the Library Admin page by entering the following URL in your web browser

    http://<FQDN>:<port>/MicroStrategyLibrary/admin

    where <FQDN> is the Fully Qualified Domain Name of the machine hosting your MicroStrategy Library application, and <port> is the assigned port number.

  2. On the Library Web Server tab, select SAML from the list of available Authentication Modes.

    If you use MicroStrategy Identity Server as your SAML identity provider, select MicroStrategy Identity Server.

  3. Click Create Trusted Relationship to establish trusted communication between Library Web Server and Intelligence server.

    Ensure the Intelligence server information is entered correctly before establishing this trusted relationship.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Restart your Web server to apply the changes.
