Formatting the layout, numbers, and appearance of a graph report

You can customize the general format, layout, numbers, and appearance of a graph report. Graph preferences options allow you to specify the following graph scaling and formatting, as well as MicroStrategy Web display conditions for a graph report:

  • Whether fonts are to be adjusted or remain constant as graph sizes change

  • Conditions for scrolling through a graph report

  • Height-to-width ratios for a graph report

  • Define color combinations for report objects

  • Whether subtotal data is to be displayed

  • Settings for Web display

  • Whether you control the positioning of chart elements or the chart elements are automatically repositioned to avoid overlapping elements

To select options for a graph report

  1. Run a report. (How?)

  2. If the report is not already in Graph view, from the View menu, choose Graph View.

  3. From the Graph menu, select Graph Options. The Preferences dialog box opens.

  4. Select a category from the following and enter values for the options associated with it. For details, refer to Preferences dialog box.

  5. After you finish with one category, do either one of the following:

    • Click Apply to save the selections without closing the dialog box. Continue with the rest of the categories and then close the Preferences dialog box.

    • Click OK to save the selections and close the dialog box.
