MicroStrategy ONE

Graph Preferences: Options, Graph Types category

Before you begin

This dialog box is displayed when you select Preferences from the Graph menu of a report. For information about setting graph preferences during find and replace, see Find and Replace: Graph Preferences: Graph Types tab.

The settings on this tab allow you to designate the list of graph styles that analysts can choose from to apply to individual reports they are viewing. You can also specify whether these styles are available only for graph reports in MicroStrategy Web, in MicroStrategy Developer, or in both Web and Developer.

Select from the following options:

  • Allow this report to be displayed as a graph: specifies that this report can be displayed as a graph.

  • Graph types allowed: if the report is allowed to be displayed as a graph, specifies the types of graphs allowed:

    • All Types

    • Vertical Area

    • Horizontal Area

    • Pie

    • Scatter

    • Polar

    • Radar

    • Bubble, and so on

  • Apply only to Web: specifies that these settings apply to this report only in MicroStrategy Web.

  • Apply only to Developer: specifies that these settings apply to this report only in MicroStrategy Developer.

  • Apply to both Web and Developer: specifies that these settings apply to this report in both MicroStrategy Web and Developer.

  • Show graph in format: Allows you to select a graph format from the list: JPEG, PNG, or BMP. In general, the PNG format reduces, and may even eliminate, any blurriness within graph reports. It is also the best format to use if you intend to use transparency effects in the graphs.
