MicroStrategy ONE

Properties and Formatting Dialog Box: Effects

If you arrived here from Workstation, see the Workstation Document Authoring Help.

You can apply effects to any control, except Search Box selectors and transaction tables, by using the Effects options in the Properties and Formatting dialog box. These are the options:

  • 3D Borders:
    • Enable 3D Borders: Add a three-dimensional border around the selected control. (Cleared by default.)
    • Effect: Determine whether the 3D borders appear Raised (default) or Sunken.
    • Weight: Determine the extent to which the 3D effect is applied to the borders. Enter larger numbers to apply a more visible 3D effect to the object's borders. The default value is 2.
  • Drop shadows:
    • Enable Drop Shadows: Determine whether a drop shadow effect is applied to the control. Use the slider to determine the depth of the drop shadow or, in other words, the extent to which it is displayed behind the control. (Cleared by default.)
    • Distance: Use the slider to determine the depth of the drop shadow or, in other words, the extent to which it is displayed behind the control.
  • Corners (Flash Only): Available for panel stacks and rounded rectangles.

Flash Mode is available only if your document was created before MicroStrategy 10.1 and was defined to display in Flash Mode. Beginning with 10.1, Presentation Mode replaces Flash Mode.

    • Rounded Corner Radius: Use the slider to determine the extent to which a clear rounded corner is displayed in Flash Mode. To emphasize the rounded corners, move the slider further to the right.
    • Top Corners Only: Determine whether only the top corners or all four corners are rounded. (Cleared by default.)
  • Translucent (iOS only): Define transparency settings for a panel stack displayed as an Information Window. The transparency settings are applied when the Information Window is displayed on an iPhone or iPad with MicroStrategy Mobile. These options are available if the Window Mode option in Properties and Formatting Dialog Box: General is set to Flip Up, Scale Up, or Slide.
    • Transparency: Type a percentage in the field to determine the transparency of the Information Window. Type a higher value to display the Information Window as more transparent, or a lower value to display the Information Window as more opaque. The default value is 0.
    • Enable blur effect: Determine whether to display the Information Window using a blur effect. (Cleared by default.)
