MicroStrategy ONE

Hiding and displaying the Datasets pane

The Datasets pane, on the left side of the Document Editor interface, contains all of the items that can be placed on the document. These items include attributes, metrics, custom groups, and consolidations from an existing MicroStrategy report, regardless of whether or not they are displayed on the report. That is, if a metric, for example, is in the Report Objects but not displayed on the grid, that metric is listed as a dataset object in the Datasets pane.

You can drag and drop items from the Datasets pane onto the Layout area to add them to the document. This creates text fields in the Layout area. If you drag and drop a dataset name from the Datasets pane to the Layout area, you create a Grid/Graph.

To hide or display the Datasets pane

  1. Open a document. (How?)

  2. Click Datasets at the bottom of the accordion on the left.

  3. If the accordion pane is not displayed at all, select Datasets from the View menu.

If the Datasets pane is currently hidden, it is displayed on the left side of the Document Editor; if currently displayed, it becomes concealed.
