Formatting rectangles using the Format Objects dialog box

Use this procedure to format a rectangle (with square corners). To format a rounded rectangle (with rounded corners), see Formatting rounded rectangles using the Format Objects dialog box.

You can define the background fill, including gradient colors (a two-color combination). You can choose whether to display the rectangle with 3D effects, as either a raised or sunken button, and with a drop shadow, which "floats" the rectangle on top of the background.

To format a rectangle using the Format Objects dialog box

  1. Open the document to be formatted in the Document Editor. How?

  2. Select the rectangle to format.

  3. Select Format from the Format menu. The Format Objects dialog box opens.

  4. Select from the following topics depending on what you want to format:

  5. Click OK to accept the changes and return to the Document Editor.
