MicroStrategy ONE

Document Editor menu bar options: View

Options in this menu allow various document components to be either displayed or hidden. These components include the following:

  • Design switches to Design View, which allows you to edit the document.

  • PDF switches to PDF View, which displays the content of the document.

  • HTML switches to HTML View, which displays a preview of the document as it will appear in MicroStrategy Web.

  • Flash switches to Flash View, which displays a preview of the document as it will appear in Flash Mode in MicroStrategy Web.

For more information on the different views, see Switching between views.

  • Grouping displays the fields used to group the document. For more information, see Document Editor: Grouping panel.

  • Datasets displays the Datasets pane containing the objects that can be placed in the document. You can take these objects (attributes, metrics, custom groups, or consolidations from an existing MicroStrategy report) and drag them into the Layout area. This creates a control on the Layout area.

  • Property List displays the Property List, which displays the formatting properties of the control selected in the Layout area.

  • Notes displays the notes or comments added to the document.

    • Only the Datasets, Property List, or Notes pane can be open at the same time. You can switch between them by clicking the name in the accordion pane at the bottom left.

    • In the View menu, if you select the pane that is already displayed, the accordion pane closes. To open it again, select Datasets, Property List, or Notes from the View menu.

  • Ruler displays the ruler to help you position controls.

  • Alignment Grid displays the alignment grid, which helps you control the placement and alignment of controls.

  • Sections allows you to select which sections to display or hide in all views. It opens Layout Properties dialog box: Sections.

  • Toolbar lists the available toolbars, allowing you to select which toolbars to display.

When you are editing a Grid/Graph, the View menu changes to provide some of the options available in the Report Editor. For more information, see Report Editor menu bar options: View.
