MicroStrategy ONE

Applying gradient colors to the current panel

Before you begin

You should be familiar with the different parts of a panel stack. See Defining the parts of a panel stack for detailed descriptions.

You can apply gradient colors to the background fill of the current panel (the panel currently displayed in the panel stack). Gradient colors blend two colors to create a gradual color change in the background of a control.

Prerequisite

This procedure assumes you have added a panel stack to the document. For instructions, see Adding panel stacks to documents.

To apply gradient colors to the current panel

To format a different panel, specify it as the current panel. For instructions, see Choosing the panel to display initially: the current panel.

  1. Open the document in the Document Editor. How?

  2. If the Property List is not displayed, select Property List from the View menu.

  3. Select the panel stack to format.

  4. In the Property List: Appearance section, set Backcolor to the first color to apply to the panel stack.

If the Property List pane is not displayed, click Property List at the bottom of the panel on the left. If the panel is not displayed at all, select Property List from the View menu.

  5. Set Gradient Color to the second color to use to create a gradual color change in the panel. The Backcolor and Gradient Color are blended together.

  6. Choose a Gradient Variant, which is the direction of the shading between the Backcolor and GradientColor. The colors can blend left to right, right to left, top to bottom, or bottom to top.

    • If you choose Horizontal centered or Vertical centered instead, you are applying a three-way or mirror gradient, which can be displayed in Flash Mode (MicroStrategy Web) only. In other MicroStrategy Web view modes and in MicroStrategy Developer, three-way gradients are rendered as non-mirrored gradients. For more information, see Applying gradient colors.

You can also use the Format Objects dialog box, which contains a Sample area that changes to show a preview of your selections.
