Steps to edit a Freeform SQL report

If you need to modify the data that is returned by a Freeform SQL report, you must edit the SQL statement and objects mapped for the Freeform SQL report. These modifications can be done from the Freeform SQL Editor. Refer to the procedure below to edit a Freeform SQL report.

Prerequisites

  • The procedure below assumes you have already created a Freeform SQL report.

  • You must have the Define Freeform SQL report and Create schema objects privileges to access and use the Freeform SQL Editor.

To edit a Freeform SQL report

  1. In MicroStrategy Developer, locate the Freeform SQL report, right-click the report, and choose Edit. The report is displayed in Design view in Report Editor.

  2. From the Data menu, select Freeform SQL Definition. The Freeform SQL Editor opens.

  3. Modify the SQL statement or the column mappings as needed.

  4. Click OK to exit the Freeform SQL Editor and return to the Report Editor.

  5. Modify the report as needed.

  6. Run the report or Save and Close the report.
