Converting a bulk export report to a standard report

A bulk export report can be exported as a delimited text file, allowing you to retrieve result sets from large datasets without having to load the datasets in memory. While you can schedule a bulk export report for execution with Distribution Services, you cannot directly execute a bulk export report in MicroStrategy Developer. You can, however, view the report in Design View and SQL View on MicroStrategy Developer. (All the other views are disabled.)

To be able to execute the report in MicroStrategy Developer, convert it back to a standard report, as described below. You then can no longer export it as a bulk report.

To convert a bulk export report to a standard report

1. In MicroStrategy Developer, open the bulk export report in the Report Editor. (How?)

2. From the Data menu, select Remove Bulk Export Definition.

3. Save the report. It is no longer a bulk export report, and its icon in MicroStrategy Developer changes to the standard report icon.
