Create Advanced Filters for Importing Data from a Database

When you are importing data from a database, you can use advanced filters, or conditions, to determine which data to import.

  1. Create a document or open an existing one.
  2. Choose Data > Add Dataset.
  3. Click Add External Data.
  4. Select a database type and build a query.
  5. Click Filter .
  6. Click Add Condition.
  7. Click Insert and choose a function. Fill out the Function Arguments dialog.
  8. Click OK.
  9. If you add multiple conditions, an AND operator is used to join them. To change the operator, click the AND between the conditions, then select an operator to use.

  10. To edit a condition, click on it.
  11. Click Save.
