Strategy One

Create Google Drive Subscriptions

Starting in Strategy One (April 2026), you can create Google Drive subscriptions to deliver dashboards, documents, or reports to Google Drive based on time intervals or events. In your subscription you can select one or more dashboards, documents, or reports in a variety of formats, define a schedule and message, and specify settings for the subscription object.

Prerequisites

  • You must have the Subscribe to Google Drive privilege.

  • If you deliver content through users, the selected users must have a defined Google Drive address that is related to a shared drive.

Configure IAM for Google Drive

Before users can create Google Drive subscriptions, an administrator must configure the Google Drive IAM authentication for the delivery device:

  1. Create or identify a Google service account that can upload files to the target Google Driver location. For more information on creating a Google service account, see Service accounts overview.

  2. Download the credential file of the service account. Note the credentials that are required by the Google Drive delivery device such as the client email, private key, token URI, and related IAM values from the service account JSON.

  3. Create the IAM:

    1. In the Workstation Navigation pane, click , next to Enterprise Security.

    2. Choose the Environment in which you want to create the object.

    3. Give the IAM object a Display Name.

    4. Select the Generic OAuth IdP type and register the Strategy environment as an application with the provided Login Redirect URIs.

    5. Copy and paste the following values from the Google credential file into the Workstation fields:

      • In Client ID, enter the value from client_email.

      • In Client Secret, enter the value from private_key.

      • In OAuthURL, enter the value from token_uri.

      • In TokenURL, enter the value from token_uri.

      • In Scope, enter https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.

    6. Click Save.

Configure a Google Drive Device

For more information on delivery devices, see Create a Delivery Device.

  1. Open the Workstation window with the Navigation pane in smart mode.

  2. In the Navigation pane, click Environments.

  3. Right-click an environment and choose Properties.

  4. In the left pane, click Subscription Delivery
  5. Click Delivery Device to view the delivery devices configured for the environment.

  6. Click Add Delivery Device.

  7. Expand the Delivery Type drop-down list and choose Google Drive.

  8. Type a Name and optional Description.

  9. In Authentication Service, choose the IAM you created above.

  10. In File Location, enter https://www.googleapis.com/upload/drive/v3/files.

  11. To specify a custom sub-folder while creating subscriptions, toggle on Allow and append user entered path.

  12. To have the system automatically create folders if the specified file path is not available, toggle on Create required folders.

  13. Expand the File Options drop-down list and choose from the following:

    • Append timestamp to file name Select to automatically add the date and time of file creation to the end of the filename.

    • Overwrite files with same name If files with the same name already exist in the specified location, select this option to automatically overwrite older files with newer files of the same name.

    • Append to file If files with the same name already exist in the specified location, you can append the contents of the new file to an existing file. For example, if you have a file device with this option selected, when the file device sends a file to the file location for the first time, the file saves to the folder. After that, whenever a file is sent with the same name, the contents of the newer file is added to the existing file.

  14. In PGP Encryption Settings, use the following optional encryption settings:

    • Enable PGP Encryption Toggle on this option to enable PGP Encryption to use a public key to ensure security and authenticity.

    • Encryption Public Key Click Upload and find the public key for PGP encryption.

You must also upload the encryption key to the user or contact subscribed to the delivery device. For more information, see Create New Users and Groups or Contacts and Contact Groups

  15. Click Save.

Create a Shared Drive

Create a shared drive and share it with the service account.

Ensure the service account has access to the destination folder. You can use a folder in a Shared drive, but not in My Drive. Share the destination folder with the service account before you create the subscription.

Create a Google Drive Subscription

  1. Open the Workstation window with the Navigation pane in smart mode.

  2. In the Navigation pane, inside the Administration group, click , next to Subscriptions.

  3. Choose an environment and project, then click Select.

  4. In Name, enter a descriptive name for the subscription.

  5. Expand the Type drop-down list and choose Google Drive.

  10. Once the schedule is set, you can optionally specify the date when the subscription should stop by selecting the date in Expire on or Stop After and choose a Timezone, if available.

  11. In File Name, optionally type a new file name for your content. You can include macros, attributes, and metrics that dynamically change based on your parameters. To choose from a list of available macros, attributes, and metrics, type {& or {.

The / character will be present in the filename, rather than creating subfolders.

  12. In Delimiter, optionally type a symbol to identify the symbol used to separate text strings in the File Name. The following delimiters are not supported: * , / , \ , < , > , | , ? , and ".
  13. In Google Drive locations from, choose a destination from your Google Drive delivery device or a user with a defined Google Drive delivery device.
    • If you choose Sub-folder, expand the Subscription Device drop-down list, choose the delivery device you want to use, and select one or more destination folders.
    • If you choose Users, type a name or click Add User, select one or more users, and click Update.
    • Google Drive destinations can only point to folders in shared drives.
    • If one Google Drive address contains multiple destination folders, Strategy delivers the subscription to each configured folder.
    • Google Drive addresses use folder IDs. Folder IDs can include letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores.
    • The file name does not created nested folders in Google Drive. Select the destination folder separately.
  14. To run the subscription as soon as you save, select the check box next to Run the subscription immediately after saving.
  15. Click Save.
