  • Setting page-by save options

The Advanced tab allows you to retain the page-by settings on a report template when you save the report. It also allows you to save any modifications that you make to a prompted report, after executing that report.

Page-by enables you to select and display subsets of your report data as separate pages. For example, a report shows sales and profit data organized by country. You can page by country to see data for only one country at a time. The Advanced tab allows you to retain the page-by settings when you save the report.

The check box When saving a report to be reprompted, rerun prompt included in objects in the report definition allows you to retain the modifications that you make to a prompted report template after you execute that report.

For example, you create a prompted report that displays the revenue for selected regions. After you execute the report you add the attribute Year to the report and select a new auto style for the report. If you want these changes to be saved on the report template, you should clear this check box before making the changes, whereas if you do not want these changes to be saved on the report template you should select this check box before making the changes.
