Emailing a report
If you use Microsoft Outlook for your email, you can email any report in MicroStrategy Developer to any email address you choose. MicroStrategy Developer converts the report to one of various formats, such as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet or an Adobe PDF, and that file containing the report data is then attached to an email, as shown in the image below.
You simply fill in an email address, add a message if you wish, and click Send. The links below show examples of what a report looks like in each format, when the recipient of the email opens the email attachment.
If you send a report in HTML format, the HTML file appears in the body of the email, rather than being attached to the email.
This email functionality in MicroStrategy Developer is not the same functionality as can be found in the MicroStrategy Narrowcast product. See the manual(s) for Narrowcast Server to learn about its email functionality.
