Mosaic Studio Query Modes
In-Memory Mosaic Model
In-Memory Mosaic models retrieve dataset results from a data source and stores them in memory. Visualizations in the dashboard that contain data from the dataset display subsets of these stored results, which can increase the speed data displays.
In-Memory mode is the default Mosaic Studio mode. In-Memory mode allows you to publish and refresh your data.
Live Mosaic Model
Live Mosaic model retrieves datasets directly from a data source. You can drag dataset objects onto visualizations using Live mode. This mode can run slower than In-Memory mode because the system retrieves dataset results before they appear. However, large dataset performance can improve when you retrieve data incrementally.
You can only use tables from relational data sources and can not perform wrangle operations when using Mosaic Studio in Live Query mode. You also can not publish or refresh in Live mode.
