Adding a Mapping Condition

This topic provides step-by-step instructions on adding a mapping condition.

  1. Launch the Map Condition Wizard (Add).

  2. Select the style mapper by selecting one from the Mapper Definition drop-down menu or by clicking New Mapper Defn and searching for it.

  3. Select the style to which you need to map from the Map To Style drop-down menu.

  4. Enter a map condition in the Additional Data text box.

This text box must have a value, which is stored as a string. The style mappers provided by MicroStrategy use 1 to represent the HTML viewing preference. The value 2 is used to represent the DHTML viewing preference. In most cases, the value 2should be used. Developers of custom style mappers can use the string for their own design needs

  5. Click Finish.

  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each mapping condition.

You can add multiple mapping conditions. Use the up and down arrow to rearrange the order of the conditions as necessary. The order of the mapping conditions in the Map Condition section is important because MicroStrategy Web checks them in the order listed. Once a mapping condition is satisfied, the corresponding style is used and mapping conditions listed below it are ignored.

  7. Save your changes.

The new mapping condition is added in the Map Condition section.
