Associating a Style Mapper with a Style Map

This topic provides step-by-step instructions on associating a style mapper with a style map.

  1. Launch the Web Customization Editor.

  2. Click on MicroStrategy Web Configuration inside the Application Settings view to expand the hierarchical tree. The expanded list comprises the different settings that can be modified to perform customizations.

  3. Click on Style Maps to expand the list of style maps used in MicroStrategy Web.

  4. Double-click the style (for which you wish the style mapper to be associated) to display Style Map Properties.

  5. Click Add in the Map Conditions section to select a style mapper and the mapping conditions.

  6. Select the style mapper by selecting one from the Mapper Definition drop-down menu or by clicking New Mapper Defn and searching for it.

  7. Select the style to which you need to map from the Map To Style drop-down menu.

  8. Enter a map condition in the Additional Data text field. Depending on the code defined in the style mapper , this text field can be empty or have any value.

  9. Click OK.

You can add multiple mapping conditions. The order in which you add the mapping conditions in the  Map Condition section is important. The mapping conditions are checked by MicroStrategy Web in the descending order so once a mapping condition is satisfied all other mapping conditions defined below it are ignored.

  10. Click Finish

  11. The new style map gets added under the Style Maps setting of the Web Customization Editor.
