MicroStrategy ONE

Report Web Browsing Options dialog box

The Report Web Browsing Options dialog box allows you to define where users can browse to within a project to select objects for inclusion on a report. These preferences are only used when viewing the report in MicroStrategy Web. You have the following options:

  • Allow browsing to 'All Objects': This check box determines where users can browse to within a project to select objects to include on a report. These preferences are only used when viewing the report in MicroStrategy Web. You can support the behaviors described below:

    • To allow users to browse out of the folder defined in the Start browsing at the following folder field, select the check box. This allows users to browse to other folders to select the objects for inclusion on the report.

    • To limit users to navigate only within the folder defined in the Start browsing at the following folder field, clear the check box. Users can also navigate to any folders within the folder selected.

If the Start browsing at the following folder field is empty, the Allow browsing to 'All Objects' check box is ignored and users can browse to any folder in the project.

  • Start browsing at the following folder: This field defines the default folder that is displayed when the report is viewed in MicroStrategy Web. Folders that store objects that are commonly included on a report are good candidates for this option. For example, you can define the default folder as a folder that stores the attributes or metrics for your project.

To define a default folder, click ... (the browse button) and navigate to the folder that you want to use.
