Formatting consolidations

You can format each element of a consolidation separately. For example, one element can be formatted as currency and another as a percentage. You can also format the header (that is, the element name) and the values (the data returned by the expression) separately.

To format a consolidation

  1. If the Consolidation Editor is not open, access it. (How?)

  2. Right-click the consolidation element and select Formatting properties.

  3. Select one of the following options to open the Format Cells dialog box:

    • Element Header to format the name of the selected element

    • Element Values to format the data values of the selected element

      Element value formatting cannot be overridden by report formatting. To apply report formatting on element values, element values must be set to the default formatting. For details on the interaction of formatting layers, see Order of Layers in the Advanced Reporting Help.
